The Museum of Finnish Book Pukstaavi

The Museum of Finnish Book Pukstaavi is the happy home of books where everyone will enjoy themselves. We want to bring the story of the Finnish book to bookworms and those whose everyday lives do not include books. Our memorable and participatory exhibitions shed light on books and book culture from multiple perspectives. We are known for our use of escape room pedagogy and our engrossing exhibitions. There is a lot to see and touch in Pukstaavi!

The cosy Café Pukstaavi and Pukstaavi’s museum shop serve customers during the museum’s opening hours. We organize different book culture events locally, nationally, and virtually all year round. The beautiful event hall can be rented to organize your own parties, meetings, or other events. The scenic garden offers things to admire, and it is a nice place to spend time in during summer.

The 100-year-old Bäckman house acts as the home of the Finnish book, and it is located in Sastamala’s historic Kirjakortteli (The Book Quarter).

The ticket to the museum also allows you entrance to Sastamala Museum.
